Description English Enfield Grandfather Clock c.1950, Magnificent Dark Silky Oak Cabinet, Large open dial with Arabic Numerals, Enfield Logo and Chime/Silent Lever, 8 Day English Movement, Westminster Chimes on Quater, Half, Three Quater and Hour with Hourly Gongs. Condition. Cleaned, oiled and tested, working. Dimensions.

Biography. Company producing factory made clocks. The company was sold to Smiths in 1933 and became part of Smiths English Clocks Ltd (q.v.), but continued trading fairly independantly until around 1938, after this the division between Enfield clocks and Smiths becomes less clear. From c1952 all clocks were simply marked Smiths and the Enfield.
